About Us – Coffs Kids Dental

There are many reasons why you should consider The Dental Centre as your child’s dental home, but the main one is that we genuinely love treating kids of all ages. We have a team of qualified clinicians and support staff who are trained to treat children of all ages…they not only have excellent clinical skills but also know how to have fun (just look at our Facebook page!) Our practice has been specifically designed to be child friendly with a dedicated waiting area, a play wall and toys for the little ones and Playstations and iPads for the older ones.
The Dental Centre is locally-owned and has been operating in Coffs Harbour since 1964. We are proud to support our local community through sponsorship of organisations such as the junior Comets, junior basketball, PCYC, BDC, Kororo Public School and Rotary amongst other organisations and charities.

As one of the only fully accredited dental practices in the region, our patients enjoy the most modern facilities, equipment and standards of care. We always endeavor to make treatment as comfortable as possible for our patients so that each dental visit is a positive experience.  There are flat screen televisions in the ceiling of all surgeries showing Foxtel: the children can slip on a set of headphones and watch cartoons, sport or the music channels. There are also Bose sound systems in all of the treatment rooms should they wish to listen to their own music. The little ones will leave with a toy from the starbox and a balloon. Of course, we also have the latest technology for children’s dentistry including digital xrays, intra-oral cameras, Diagnodent lasers, a soft tissue laser, digital impression equipment and patient education software.

We understand that some youngsters might still be a little anxious and so we use ‘The Wand’ for comfortable delivery of local anaesthesia, nitrous oxide sedation (happy gas) and we also have regular general anaesthesia sessions at Baringa Private Hospital. A full range of dental services for children are provided here at The Dental Centre. We have clinicians with post-graduate university training in paediatric dentistry and we maintain a close working relationship with paediatric dental specialists from Westmead Hospital.

The majority of orthodontic concerns can also be addressed in our practice by clinicians with a special interest and training in this field. In fact we have treated well over 1000 cases with conventional braces and Invisalign..

The Dental Centre is right in the middle of town with easy access from local schools. Our huge on-site carpark, and before and after school appointments, including two late nights each week are made available for the convenience of patients and their parents.
